Interactives for learning: Numicon software
Numicon is an innovative approach to early years mathematics. The Numicon system is based on sets of plastic shapes which represent numbers and can be manipulated by young children to give them a greater understanding of basic mathematics.
The screen-shot shows the software which was developed to allow a teacher to use an interactive whiteboard to demonstrate the learning activities which pupils carry out using the Numicon system.
The Numicon software was written in Adobe® Flash® and is run through a data-projector on an interactive whiteboard.
